This website is a work in progress. We welcome your suggestions and
comments.
Our
ministry includes outreach into the
Portland Community and beyond.
We make our building available to various groups including Alcoholics Anonymous, Teen Challenge, Pacific Crest Community School (alternative school) Boy Scout Troop 22, Oregon Bach Festival, and
Opera Carolers of Portland
as
well as smaller groups who practice basketball, baseball,

volleyball and soccer on our carpeted gym floor each week.
We are the home of
Portland Tillamook Cooperative Preschool
and their classes are held in our
Sunday School rooms weekdays
during the school year.
Rummage Sale for Missions
Our Annual Rummage Sale, was once a fund raiser for the congregation,
but is now dedicated to supporting community services outside our doors.
With the
generous help of the
netted
over $3,000 for FISH
Emergency Service,
Hurricane Katrina Relief in Mississippi.
During the week of preparation and the sale,
visitors to our church were often heard remarking,
“This is such a good cause!”
In 2006 rummage sale raised almost $5000 which was divided between
FISH Emergency Service (emergency food aid), Habitat for Humanity, and
Children’s Community Clinic. One very generous anonymous donation sold for $600.
How do you reach out to children in Portland and children worldwide at the same time?
At PCL we sponsor a
UNICEF carnival!
Each
Halloween our Youth Group partners with
Portland Tillamook Cooperative Preschool to offer a
safe, fun Halloween experience for
young children in our community.
All funds raised at this carnival are sent to the
United Nations International Children's Fund
to
help children in need throughout the world.
Our UNICEF Carnival is held in the
church gym each year on the
Sunday before Halloween, 4-6:30 pm

Just as we send our Youth Group on a Mission Trip each summer,
other youth groups from other communities come to serve in Portland.
While working in community service agencies such as FISH or Portland Rescue Mission,
mission trip participants from other communities sleep and eat in our building.
PDX Swap uses our building for monthly clothing swaps and semi-annual gift Swaps. Other small groups also use our building for meetings and events.
In short, our congregation not only reaches out to help others in our local community and world wide, but also offers our building as a resource to the Portland community.
If your group is interested in using our building or gym, please contact the office at (503) 232-9129 to request more information and an application.
